GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING SERVICES
Corsair has performed thousands of TxDOT projects all throughout the State of Texas. We have performed numerous projects in excess of $3M and have the capacity to perform up to $15M of projects annually. Our services includes all aspects geotechnical designs for pavements, retaining walls, and bridge foundations.
LABORATORY TESTING SERVICES
Corsair provides clients with an expert team equipped to perform a variety of laboratory tests on soil and rock samples. Corsair operates a state of the art automated laboratory with AASHTO and TXDOT certifications.
TRAFFIC CONTROL SERVICES
Corsair owns 4 traffic control teams with traffic attenuators. We provide an on-time and accurate setup so you are not delayed. Our teams are are there to make sure your field crews are safe are not slowed down.
GEOTECHNICAL DRILLING SERVICE
Corsair has a fleet of drill rigs including two ATV and five truck mounted CME drill rigs. Our fleet is relatively new and vigorously maintained and are designed to drill in all soil and rock conditions. Our staff has over 100 years of combined experience in all fields of geotechnical drilling.
In 2012, three engineers had a vision for a Civil Engineering Firm that would bring innovation into our lives in a way that no other company had done before. SENIOR GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER
Responsibilities and Duties
Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate mid to large size field and laboratory services for a wide range of project types. Perform and/or oversee geotechnical engineering analyses and evaluations for TxDOT Transportation projects including the design of retaining wall systems, bridge foundations and roadway pavements.
Manage projects, subcontractors, and geotechnical staff on multi-disciplined projects and work within multi-disciplined team environment.
Direct the work of up to 5 staff engineers including all aspects of field coordination, logging, and laboratory assignments.
Mentor for lower-level employees- Maintaining liaison with individuals and units within or outside organization.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum 10 to 12 Years of experience with a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering emphasis preferred.
Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas is required.
Extensive experience in all types of subsurface explorations, laboratory testing, foundation engineering, all types of engineering analyses, engineering report writing, preparation of contract documents.
Experience in TxDOT transportation projects is a plus.
Experience with staff management, project management and business development is a plus.
Absolutely have excellent communication and writing skills.
STAFF GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER II
(Corsair Consulting LLC has opening in Cedar Park, TX) Staff Geotechnical Engineer II: Independently perform field investigations for Wind Energy and TxDOT projects. Review geotechnical laboratory test results including Moisture Content, Atterberg Limits, Sieve Analyses, Unconfined Compression, Consolidation, Compaction, CBR, CU Triaxial Compression, Sulfate Content, Organic Content, pH, Minimum Resistivity, and Lime-Series. Conduct geotechnical engineering analyses and design calculations including Soil/Rock Nailed Walls, Drilled Shaft Walls, Mechanically Stabilized Earth Walls, Drilled Shaft and Driven Pile Compressional and Tensional Capacities, Deep Foundation Lateral Capacities, Shallow Foundation Capacities, Deep Foundation Downdrag Analyses, Settlement Estimation for the retaining walls and embankments, and Pavement Section Design. Provide engineering recommendations based on field and laboratory test results, evaluations, and calculations. Prepare, write, and review engineering reports for services provided. Up to 10% in-state travel may be required to project sites. ENGINEER IN TRAINING
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients. This may include performing and/or leading field investigations, engineering analyses, calculations, recommendations, observation and inspection, and report writing. Prepare proposals and cost estimates, and track and evaluate project progress and budgets. Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data.
Qualifications and Skills
Maintain quality standards on all projects.
Assist in developing the scope of work for routine projects.
Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, and other project related documents.
Analyze data, and perform engineering calculations and analysis for PE review.
Conduct, coordinate or supervise field investigations, laboratory testing, and evaluation of respective data.
Develop plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work.
Work closely with senior-level project manager and Professional Engineer of Record to gain project management and engineering experience.
Make design recommendations, adaptations and modifications for review and consideration by the Professional Engineer of Record.
Prepare work scope, proposals and reports and plans investigations for approval by senior level professionals.
Interact with client and project team in developing scope of services and communicating project progress.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Master’s degree in Engineering preferred.
Minimum 0-2 years’ experience.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
