GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING
As a DBE, MBE and HUB certified firm, Corsair provides clients with an experienced engineering team equipped with diverse skills in the field of Geotechnical Engineering to meet design challenges as they relate to the analysis and design of

RETAINING WALL DESIGN
Corsair specializes in the design and construction inspection of both temporary and permanent retaining wall systems. Complex set of plans and details are distilled with practicality and functionality in mind. Our team of experienced engineers have worked  on several hundred retaining wall designs throughout the state of Texas.
CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING AND INSPECTION SERVICES

LABORATORY TESTING SERVICES
Corsair provides clients with an expert team equipped to perform a variety of laboratory tests on soil and rock samples. Corsair operates a state of the art automated laboratory with AASHTO and TXDOT certifications.
GEOTECHNICAL DRILLING SERVICE
Corsair has a fleet of drill rigs including two ATV and three truck mounted CME drill rigs. Each rig is vigorously maintained and are designed to drill in all soil and rock conditions. Our staff has over 60 years of combined experience in all fields of geotechnical drilling.

SENIOR GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER
Responsibilities and Duties
​
Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate mid to large size field and laboratory services for a wide range of project types. Perform and/or oversee geotechnical engineering analyses and evaluations for TxDOT Transportation projects including the design of retaining wall systems, bridge foundations and roadway pavements.
Manage projects, subcontractors, and geotechnical staff on multi-disciplined projects and work within multi-disciplined team environment.
Direct the work of up to 5 staff engineers including all aspects of field coordination, logging, and laboratory assignments.
Mentor for lower-level employees- Maintaining liaison with individuals and units within or outside organization.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum 10 to 12 Years of experience with a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering emphasis preferred.
Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas is required.
Extensive experience in all types of subsurface explorations, laboratory testing, foundation engineering, all types of engineering analyses, engineering report writing, preparation of contract documents.
Experience in TxDOT transportation projects is a plus.
Experience with staff management, project management and business development is a plus.
Absolutely have excellent communication and writing skills.
GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER

(Corsair Consulting LLC has opening in Cedar Park, TX) Geotechnical Engineer: Design and develop plans and specifications for complex wind energy projects to challenging heavy transportation projects. Perform field investigations to resolve problems; conduct geotechnical engineering analysis and design calculations, and provide engineering recommendations based on field and laboratory test results. Write, prepare, and review related reports for services provided. Prepare proposals and cost estimates and track and evaluate project progress and budget. Requires Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related degree and 1 year experience, of which 1 year must include experience in geotechnical subsurface exploration, lab and field testing, and report writing. Prepare proposals and cost estimates, and track and evaluate project progress and budgets. Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data.
Qualifications and Skills

Assist in developing the scope of work for routine projects.
Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, and other project related documents.
Analyze data, and perform engineering calculations and analysis for PE review.
Conduct, coordinate or supervise field investigations, laboratory testing, and evaluation of respective data.
Develop plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work.
Work closely with senior-level project manager and Professional Engineer of Record to gain project management and engineering experience.
Make design recommendations, adaptations and modifications for review and consideration by the Professional Engineer of Record.
Prepare work scope, proposals and reports and plans investigations for approval by senior level professionals.
Interact with client and project team in developing scope of services and communicating project progress.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Master’s degree in Engineering preferred.
Minimum 0-2 years’ experience.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
